Sandy Bottom Park is participating in the 2nd Annual National Trails Day...
Join us for a day of fun in the park! At 9:00 AM, tree planting along the trails at Sandy Bottom will begin. We will be planting bareroot, native, riparian trees and shrubs, so grab your shovel and help add more habitat, shade, and roots to keep soil in place. Check in at the east end of the parking lot.
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Party in the Park! A multitude of free family-friendly activities will be set up at Sandy Bottom Beach by local organizations, as well as craft and food vendors. Play games, learn about local outdoor activities, go on a trail scavenger hunt, and more!
The park events start with a tree planting from 9 to 10 where attendees can plant seedlings and then install tree tubes. Then for the WFL part, forester Corey Figueiredo will take us through an ash salvage harvest, invasive species abatement success following forestry mulcher and herbicide application, regeneration and tree planting.
The park will have vendors and exhibitioners through the day
