The Otsego County Conservation Association (OCCA) is having a woods walk on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 from 10AM to Noon at the Basswood Pond Stat Forest. The event is free and open to the public. Senior Forester Nathan Funk of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will lead an informative walk through Basswood Pond State Forest. He will talk about the forest’s history, planned forestry actions, and recreational opportunities at the forest. The tour will include stops at recently completed projects and the site of upcoming timber harvests and will include discussion of management decisions.
