Our speaker for our annual dinner will be Dennis Money who is the President of Seneca White Deer, Inc. (www.senecawhitedeer.org). The former Seneca Army Depot, located along Seneca Lake, is the home to the world’s largest all-white, white-tailed deer herd. In an unprotected environment, white deer are usually easy prey for predators or hunters. The limited predators and controlled hunting on the former Depot have allowed the white deer to interbreed and increase in numbers for more than 60 years. Dennis will explain the history of the Army Depot, how the herd developed and his organization's efforts to maintain the deer herd.
Please bring a dish to share. Power outlets will be available for crock pots. Bring your own plate, cup or mug and utensils. Hot and cold beverages will be available. Register for the event by calling Steve Kutney at 607-862-9152.
