Hosted by: Iroquois Rod and Gun Club
590 Feuz Road, Schenectady, N.Y.
The New York Forest Owners Association and the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance are planning a two-hour program on the safe use of a chainsaw. The program is geared to the novice. Students will not operate a chainsaw in this class. Chainsaws are among the most useful and dangerous outdoor power tools owned and operated by landowners and sportsmen. While all danger cannot be eliminated, training and instruction have proven to be an effective way to mitigate the risk of harm to a chain saw user. This is an indoor seminar taught by Professional Forester, Mike Burns. You do not need to be a Club member to attend, so guests are welcome. Provided we have at least 10 people interested, the class will be held on Sunday March 25th, from 1 pm to 3 pm. The course is FREE and is outlined as follows:
I. Safe Equipment
A. Chainsaw Features - chain break, trigger lock, chain catch, anti-vibration mounts, etc.
